Part Time Faculty Positions

The Department of History seeks applicants for part-time faculty to teach undergraduate survey courses
in History in the following areas: 

  • HIS 1000 (HS) World Civilization to 1500
  • HIS 1050 (AI) American Civilization Since World War II
  • HIS 1300 (HS) Europe and the World: 1500-1945
  • HIS 1400 (HS) The World Since 1945
  • HIS 1600 (HS) African Civilizations to 1800
  • HIS 1610 (HS) African Civilizations Since 1800
  • HIS 2040 United States to 1877
  • HIS 2050 United States Since 1877

Candidates must hold an M.A. in history; preference given to those who are ABD or who posess a Ph.D.  Candidate must be prepared to teach courses at the main campus and at off-campus centers.  The faculty member must meet classes, hold regular office hours, assist students with classroom problems, and complete grading requirements in accordance with Wayne State University standards.
