Advising Sessions for Students Interested in the Post Bachelor Program

Students who currently hold a degree in an area other than communication sciences and disorders and who are interested in applying for admission to one of the Communication Sciences and Disorders graduate programs should attend an individual advising session before registering for classes.

The department asks that students bring a copy of all college and/or university transcripts to this advising session. Transcript copies can be unofficial. 

Scheduling an Advising Appointment

To schedule an advising appointment on-line:

  1. Go to https://wams.wayne.edu/
  2. Log-in
    • Current Wayne State students: use your Access ID and Pipeline password.
    • Prospective students: create a new GUEST account.
  3. On the WAMS Home page select "Liberal Arts & Sciences -Communication Sciences and Disorders"
  4. Click on "Schedule Appointment".
  5. Select "Location: Main Campus".
  6. Select "Subject" from the drop down box and choose the purpose for your appointment. POST-BACHELOR students please choose the  "POST-BACH" selection only.
  7. Select "By Advisor". Faith Williams will be the default name.
  8. Select your preferred week. You can only schedule appointments within a two-week window.
  9. Select the date and available time that works best for you.
  10. Click Save.

You will receive a confirmation email with a link to cancel your appointment, if needed. Several reminders will be sent to your e-mail prior to the appointment date.

Drop-in/Walk-in advising

Rackham Memorial Building: Mondays and Thursdays from 1:00-5:00 p.m. in Room 207, Rackham.

Macomb Education Center:  2nd & 4th Tuesday of every month from 10:30am-6pm.  

During walk-in advising hours, appointments are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Where to Come for Your Advising Appointment

Post Bachelor advising on the main campus is given in the Rackham Memorial Building. The Rackham Building is located at 60 Farnsworth Street, one block south of the Detroit Institute of Arts and across the street from the Welcome Center (the northeast corner of Woodward and Warren Avenue).

Parking is available at meters along Woodward Avenue and Farnsworth Street, as well as in a secured parking structure (Wayne State Structure #3). Additional information on parking locations and parking fees is available here.
